Second Day
May 14, 2010
So, after the post yesterday, Keiko and I went to some electronics/computer, manga, and video game stores. I remember a time when I used to do all this walking, it was back when I lived here.
For lunch we went to Takaraya (宝屋) for ramen. We both had a large takara-ramen, and shared some gyoza. I also had an onigiri (riceball). We then returned to the hotel. We ended up taking a nap until around 5:30pm.
For dinner, we went to a sushi place called すしてつ on Pontocho (先斗町). The sushi there is a little more expensive (only 5円 more) than most conveyor belt sushi places, but sitting at the bar you get to see them make the sushi and such.
After dinner we went to King Brit. A bar owned by a friend. Everyone lovingly calls him Jiji (meaning old man). I had a Lagavulen 16 yr and Genlevit 12 yr there. We stopped briefly at a friends kabob shop (which now sells lamb kabobs on the weekend, again
) , and ended our night at Nikki’s Bar. Staggared home, and went to sleep. I guess since it’s past 1pm we should probably get ready and head out for the day. More later.
